Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
In the Old Testament, the High Priest was the one who took the atoning blood into the Holy of Holies. This was for forgiveness of the nation’s sin. Sin has a price and the price is death. Goats and calves were sacrificed during this time to fulfill this requirement. But this only lasted as long as it took for the first person in the nation to sin.
Jesus came to be the ultimate sacrifice. One that atoned for not just Israel’s sin but for the sins of all people. He is the High Priest for every one of us. He was not made by mans hands but came to save man from the sins of their hands. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No one can honestly deny that fact.
Everything changed with the coming of Jesus. He came to fulfill the law of Moses. He came to reclaim His people. He was the One who gave everything for the love of me and you. There is no middle ground. Either you choose Him or deny Him. Will you choose Him today? Take the time to celebrate Him today at your local church. He is waiting for you.
